Globalization of Indian economy and the retail revolution have transformed the textile and apparel industry in India. This has also resulted in a strongly felt shortage of qualified and skilled professionals in textile and apparel industry. Today, the textile/apparel industry very strongly needs to consolidate and develop its human resource base.

However there are no dedicated groups for specialized professionals in the apparel and textile segment.

Denim Club India has taken the lead, to put together a comprehensive resource for the benefit of the entire textile and apparel industry as well as the professionals - calling it by the name Pool of Merchandisers - which shall include the details of MERCHANDISERS in the field of textile/apparel, working at various levels, in different organizations.

Who All Are Eligible To Join the Pool Of Merchandisers?
All professionals currently involved in MERCHANDISING in the textile/apparel segments, whether in a garment manufacturing / export house, a buying house, a boutique, a retail chain, a design house or any other set-up wherein they deal with fabric / garments / made-ups in the capacity of a merchandiser are eligible to join the DCI's Pool of Merchandisers. All those who have been previously performing, or are currently performing, as a merchandiser but were / are not designated as a merchandiser, are also eligible to join the Pool.
